03/07/2010 Thrilling battle for pole in Paul Ricard

15 minutes of thrilling competition is the best way to describe the first qualifying session in Paul Ricard. Pole position changed seven times and in the final ranking only 3 tenths of a second separated the top-4. Pierguidi was fastest, with Nicoll-Jones in the IMS Ginetta second, championship leader Paul Meijer in his Rhesus Aston third and RS Williams Aston driver Michael Mallock fourth.
Pierguidi took his second pole of the weekend some minutes later, now with Meijer and Mallock right behind him.Hunter Abott confirmed the strong Ginetta pace with a good fourth spot.
In Supersport Gianni Giudici and Athanasios Ladas both took one pole in the Supersport Class.

Nicoll-Jones: “I’m very happy with the results, both my second spot as the fourth place of Hunter The Ginetta is behaving great here, even if we never did any testing or racing here.”
Michael Mallock: “The first session was tremendous, I was really on the limit everywhere. I don’t think I could have gone any quicker.”
